Slit seating is an eco-friendly and affordable form of seating made using corrugated cardboard.
Made without using any adhesives, nuts, screws or bolts; this piece of furniture is easy to make and assemble.
The curved area in the upper portion of the seating ensures that there is no discomfort caused to the user while sitting.The slit mechanism ensures that the seat is strong and sturdy and hence will not break or tear while the user is seated on it,

Process
*this furniture piece is made out of scrap carboard collected from various stores in and around my locality
My initial plan was to make 18x18in pieces, this wasn’t possible due to the unavailability of evenly sized cartons with the required dimentions. Joining two smaller pieces to make a piece of the required size would result in the weakening of the structure.
Therefore, I started with cutting 8 cartons to get 32 flat sheets of corrugated cardboard. I
used 16 of strongest sheets from the 32 sheets which I got out of the cartons. I cut 16
squares of 16x15inches.
After all the pieces were cut, I bound them together using sticky tape and used the jigsaw to collectively cut an optimum curve to ensure that the seat would be comfortable to sit on.
Then I proceeded to individually cut the slits. This was probably the toughest part, I made 8 slits on the upper half of 8 cartons and 8 in the lower half of the remaining 8. After the slits were carefully cut out, I constructed the seat by easily inserting the pieces into one another.
