Mt. Olive is a well known brand that has been around for almost 100 years. Over all those years the branding has changed, but it has been a while since it received an update.
With this project I set out to create labels with the familiar Mt. Olive packaging, but updated to fit the more modern and clean design culture of today. To do this I first drew out the top portion of the label; including the "Mt. Olive" type, the "home made" banner and the two garnish stalks that accompany "since 1926". I created these first using my sketch pad, then moved on to tracing paper. After everything looked right within the drawing I scanned it into Illustrator and created the labels that dress the glass jars today.
Along with the front labels I also created the labels on the backs of each jar that house the individual nutrition information for each food or spice.
