Romeo & Juliet Poster

The Romeo & Juliet posters were created during month two of the program. This was a good challenge and one of the first designs that we made along this journey. For the assignment we recreated three of the designs made by Nigel French from the training video on Lynda.com and the fourth one was a design we had the liberty to create. I made three sketches and chose the one with Romeo & Juliet kissing in the heart. I enjoyed designing it and learning more about using InDesign in the process.
This is the final poster design from the hand drawn sketch idea.
This is the idea that was drawn for the poster. Using a heart and their two faces seemed to capture the love Romeo & Juliet had for each other.
On this sketch I went with different image from the story, a rose, knife and the poisonous vial that was used within the story. I didn't chose it because it did not capture the love story aspect for the poster.
With this sketch I showed their hands clenched to help show their love. I didn't feel that it made the same visual effect as the other one that was selected for my final design.
