My two primary media choices for the creation of this dust jacket cover were Photoshop and InDesign. I used Photoshop primarily for the creation of the cover and back cover images. Fahrenheit 451 is an award-winning novel that discusses a period of time in the future in which increasing knowledge through the reading of books is banned from the citizens, and anyone who is caught in the act watches as their houses are burned down, sometimes with them still in it. Because of this concept, I chose to focus the images on the eyes of the individuals as they are engulfed by the flames for pursuing knowledge. I kept the color scheme in a range of black, orange and white to go with the darker plot of the story. I chose to use a destroyed font in combination with a sans serif to provide the proper amount of contrast, while still complementing the theme and concept of the cover.
