Assigned the name "Haan," which is Dutch for Rooster, I had to develop a business based on the characteristics of the animal. I thought a rooster would be well suited for the namesake and perhaps even image of a barber shop. Looking to create a brand that was at once timeless and trendy, I illustrated a character with a lot of personality that is both sophisticated and playful, and combined him with a bold more traditional logotype.

To play up the tongue-in-cheek tone of the brand, I incorporated very elegant and intricate patterns in the design of the stationary suite, but toned them down and limited them to grayscale.

As a promotional item for this business, I also designed a mobile app to help customers choose the right style. I incorporated hand drawn illustrations into this design as well, so that it's cohesive with the rest of the brand.
