During the Mayan times, it was believed that drinking Balché, a fermented mead beverage containing water, honey, and pieces of the balché wood, would grant the drinker magical powers. These powers consist of, but are not limited to, strength, healing, and wisdom. The drink was also believed to bestow transcending powers to the drinker.
The look and feel for Mead Magical was inspired from rustic Mayan culture and natural materials. The illustrations for the labels are based on the Mayan Gods of strength, healing, and wisdom. Each God was drawn to represent characteristics of the Mayan deities. Uniformity between each bottle was achieved through the usage of analogous colours of gold, silver,
and bronze.
