And Done.
Whole bunch of new shit was added in this edition: Some darker blue in lighting for the shadowier side of her leathers, finished buckles, fixed and rendered the foot, and even refined lighting and shadow around the whole body. There is also now the beginning of what will be the handle to her scimitar.
Rendered the hand and forearm that will be gripping the scimitar handle - I do think my work there is done. I'm really slow at figuring all this out, but it's comng along really nicely, so I'm genuinely happy with the results.
So, with some edits to the flame, it looks more natural AND magical, and with some enhancements to the light coming from it, it looks like there's more kick to the fire.
Some extra rim lighting and the glowing blade (Because you doesn't play with an Enhanced weapon?), is now etched in. It's really giving the character Three Dimensionality and life. There's a ways to go, but I like what's happening!
Adding some color to the body, to show the rough leather clothing she is most likely adorned with, and to give it a natural color base to paint over. Her race may be an unusual one, but her clothing is the same mundane fabric any other adventurer would use.
I've managed to drop the black in for the sub body of the figure, and it actually fills out nicely with mostly finished rim lightning
This is a character a friend made for a campaign, and I'm helping to bring to life. The challenge is making it feel, realistic, and finally learning all those professional Photoshop techniques people are using now a days to make these works happen. The other aspect is, making it look like my friend. Cartoonish likeness is one thing, but I wanted her to really feel like she -is- this character, and so there's where the effort comes in.
