Window Design/Styling

These windows were designed and created with a team to get the results we accomplished.

The first window had to be created using inspiration from the Love Is... comic strips with a twist of humor. My group and I decided on using the comic Love is a Balancing Act for our window design idea and recreated it so the meaning was love is balancing boys, shopping, clothes, and other materialistic items that women would need to balance in their lives. Every box in this window was handmade and painted to create the color scheme and design idea that was intended. The boxes were nailed, hot glued, or hung to the ceiling using monofilament to insure that they would stay in place for the duration of the window.
This next window was created using the idea of pattern and print mixing. Inspiration was drawn from the 70's and the color scheme was then picked according to the decade. The back wall was sketched and painted using an overhead projector to help create the 'cube wall' pattern seen below. Several coats of paint were used to insure the best outcome for the cubes and each line was created using paint pens. Each box was put together, painted, and outlined individually. They were then hung from the ceiling using monofilament and nails. The flooring was then sketched and painted last as well as the carpet we installed to the left half of the window.
