For my final classroom project [publication], I developed content for an old Bengali rock band called Mohiner Ghoraguli [or Mohin's Horses], followed by illustrated interpretations of the text. This project is in two parts - Documentation of the content, and the final design for the publication.
In short, the band comprised of a radical bunch of politically active youngsters in the mid 1970s. They lasted for about two decades, with a long hiatus in between, creating songs that intended to move the public to action, to tell stories of contemporary situations of love, loneliness, displacement and violence. They had the most unique stage presence and some of the most interesting ideas with regards to costumes, show tickets, album art and instrument-lyric layering. Misunderstood in their own times, today they are hailed as legends. This project is an ongoing attempt to act as a tribute to a great band that has left much behind for the next generation of contemporary musicians in Bengal, and India at large.

Disclaimer: This is a WORK IN PROGRESS. It is a prototype created for my academic design project, which I hope to work upon and further refine with inputs from friends, professionals, publishers, musicians, and anyone with knowledge who would wish to contribute and collaborate. This document must be acknowledged as a student project, and while I have tried to display content correct to the best of my knowledge, no part of this document must be quoted as final authority on the subject matter. There may be some discrepancies in facts, since knowledge source was limited to a couple of face-to-face/telephonic interviews, printed articles, views from fans and friends, some online material, and my own understanding, executed over a limited time-frame. I apologize sincerely if any sentiments are hurt, and differing views are projected in the process. I would be happy to rectify/improve upon facts as and when I can. Also, this book does not exist in any printed format yet (except for one single prototype I own).
