A card for Samhain
This was created as a non-traditional Halloween card, to celebrate the roots of the holiday, steeped in ancient Pagan traditions. The original holiday of Samhain was a new-years celebration of sorts, honouring the death of the old year and the promise of rebirth in the new year to come. Because I wanted to honour its ancient roots, I created this piece to look sort of like an old woodblock print.
