I can say it fits the character in the book perfectly. Father Time keeps track of the time of people.

This can symbolize the people whom Father Time keeps track of.
It just says that even if we have the same time, we do different things for it.
It also gives the impression that time is running out. If we don’t spend our time wisely, we might regret it.
