Lion Illustration Created with Adobe CC Mobile and Desktop Applications
This Lion Illustration was created using mulitple Adobe CC applications, beginning with Adobe Sketch on my iPad, and finishing with Adobe Illustrator on my desktop computer. This is my third in an ongoing series of Zoo Portraits.
I started with Adobe Sketch on my iPad by tracing a photo I took at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
The completed Sketch was sent directly to Photoshop on my desktop where I scaled it up to 24" x 18" at 300ppi. I filled in some of the line art, constrasted the the lines, and saved out a full resolution tiff to place into Illustrator.

The color work and and background textures were all created in Illustrator.
I used Adobe Capture on my iPhone to collect a variety of colors. Recently I took a trip to England, which gave me the idea to look for book covers about England Royality. I searched Google for book cover images, and then photographed my screen using Adobe Capture. The idea was to just collect colors, and not over think it.
I also used Adobe Capture to collect a background texture. I photographed these flowers in my Lightroom catalog with Capture, which converted the shapes to vector art.
I drew a grass pattern with Adobe Draw on my iPad and sent the finished drawing directly to Illustrator on my desktop.
The drawing and flower texture, combined with a grunge pattern creates the background.
