Starting a while back, Udon Entertainment began publishing a line of Tribute books. Each book was themed around a different videogame and, in cooperation with that game's publisher, an open call was made for artists around the world for art showing their love for these games.
This illustration marks the 4th consecutive Udon Tribute book that I have been a part of! This book's theme was Capcom's long line of fighting game franchises. Since almost anything from their catalog was available, I chose a personal favorite - PowerStone!
In this, I wanted to create the kind of tension I feel playing the game. You have to collect gems to gain power, and sometimes collecting them is a deliberate attempt to deny your opponent that power! It's a very frantic and fun game.
