Portrait using the C.F. Payne Technique and collage. I was given a portrait of a girl from Madagascar whose favorite color was purple. The project was to do a portrait using the C.F. Payne Technique and then to send the portrait back to the person we had illustrated and painted. The C.F. Payne technique is a process using acrylic and oil paints, fixatives, and color pencil in layers to achieve a rich and dynamic illustration. I added india ink as well as collage to the process to achieve a certain style that plays with positive and negative space.
