Fromveur II ship built in 2011 by the Piriou shipyard, located in Concarneau, France. The vessel is used to transport passengers and cargo between the islands of Brest. The aim of the task was to perform a total restyling of the vessel without interfering the construction. Units’ silhouette lacks harmony. This is a ship with randomly selected directions of superstructure, expressionless dynamic and a lack of a visual adaptation to its marine environment. The superstructure consists of randomly juxtaposed blocks, which gives a feeling of heaviness and clumsiness. Flat front wall is inclined toward the direction of the wheelhouse, but the line is then discontinued. Wheelhouse suddenly acquires rounded shapes.

In my project I wanted to organise the superstructure and the hull into one coherent entity. Consequently, I also decided to emphasize the vertical direction determined by the stem, funnels and ventilation.
