A small shuttle with electric drive designed for water recreation on the inner city stretch of Brda River.
The project intention was to provide an alternative to the currently available public transportation that could also serve as of form of the tourist attraction. The shuttle was designed to move at walking speed.
The boat size is relatively small, not to hinder manoeuvres — it can take up to 5 passengers.
The interior of the boat was designed to provide flexibility of use. Shuttles will be used on a relatively short distances, therefore I decided to use foldable seats. An important aspect of the design was to ensure the user safety.
The primary use of the building is to serve as a place to rent boats. The building includes also a small dining area. Also is an ideal place to conduct courses on the water.
The pier is mounted on steel pontoons filled with polystyrene foam (14.2 x2, 8 m.) The structure, like boats, is made from aluminium profiles covered with trapezoidal sheet. The pier is fully removable after the season (May-September). This also provides a flexibility of use, as the pier might be moved to another part of the town.
Pier shaped in a way that facilitates parking floating object. It is also allows charging the unit.
