How is it decided what may stay and what is rejected from a space?
This piece brings to attention the things that are deemed unfit to survive but continue anyway.
Embroidered growths make their home in a cabinet that is vulnerable to the public. From the top drawer comes a small voice that interrupts the quiet with sounds of half words. The voice keeps attempting to speak but is cut off from an unspoken force. The words are given physicality on a score sheet across from the drawer. The letters in ink anchor the sounds and translate into language. Separated, these three pieces would disappear but together it is harder to ignore the rhythms each provides.
