"Takeoff" is a desktop cord holder I designed in winter 2015.
The cord holder takes the abstracted form of a butterfly in the hopes of communicating a sense of lightweightness and delicacy using a visually heavy material.
The final model was hand crafted from sand-casted aluminum and given a matte finish.
The cord holder further conveys it's message of levity by being able to balance on a foot on it's front, standing on the smallest amount of material possible.
