Sometimes (*most times) I find that the initial style frames to a job can turn out better than the finished piece, I find it as an oppotunity to take more chances in the hope the client will bite at one of them and let you run with an idea.
It is now a couple of years since I worked on this pitch for the Science Museum in London, of which we won, but looking back on them I much prefer my initial creative response to both the pitch and the commissioned work, than the finished product.
