2015 Harvest Sermon Series
Harvest DNA
August 2015
For this project I used the magnifying glass to reveal make up who we are as a church. I think the thing I like about this one the most is that is shows our logo isn't just a pretty design but it reflects who we are as a church and what we strive for. Harvest is made up of 11 core values: Gospel Centered, Disciplemaking, Expository Preaching, Family, Authentic Community, Prayer, Diversity, Church Planting, Global Missions, Local Missions.
Jonah
August 2015
The book of Jonah is so much greater than just one little story in the third chapter, which is why I skipped doing a graphic with a whale on this one. My inpiration for Jonah came from a series of Podcasts by Tim Keller. I love the way that Keller exposits the text, revealing the character of Jonah, his struggles, and his unwillingness to follow God's plan. God calls Jonah to "the great city" of Ninveah four times in Jonah, but due to the racial idolatry in Jonah's heart towards the Ninvevites Jonah continues to run away from what God has in store for him. I love the way the book ends with Jonah sitting on a hill with no resolution. It's clear that Jonah finally gave in to God's plan to go to Ninevah, despite his racial idolatry, because who else would have told the story of Jonah? And who in their right mind would tell a story of how wretched they are other than a man who saw his need and has been redeemed? This was one of my favorite graphics to work on and I love the book of Jonah because it's such a reflection of ourselves and the idols we continue to let take control of our lives, knowing that God can, and will, do a mighty work if we will be faithful and his will be done.

Psalms
May - June 2015
This was my frist graphic created at Harvest. I had a lot of inspiration for this one. I used a gritty paper texture to give it a feel like an old hymnbook and you can also see a hymn in the backgound "Create In Me A Clean Heart". The bars behind "Psalms" was to show that Psalms is a book of music and praise. The colors were added to show that Psalms is full of color and beauty, and also to break up the plain paper texture I used for the background.
Sanctified
September - November 2015
This series was a lot of fun. The photo in the background is a potter molding clay to show that the sancitifcation process is about being molded into a new creation, or to "be made new".
