Typography 1

Typographic hierarchy helps readers scan a text, knowing where to enter and exit and how to pick and choose among its offerings. Each level of the hierarchy should be signaled by one or more cues, applied consistently across a body of text. Subtle, and not so subtle, control of how a reader experiences a layout is a skill no designer can be without.

Working in layers in InDesign (image & text), map your life facts onto the image of your hand, placing each element on a 45 degree angle. Use levels of hierarchy to organize your type and signal how a reader should navigate your text. Your compositions should be a 9x9 inch square, have full bleeds, and be in black and white only. You may use thin rules to make things interesting along with element from any alphabet you speak fluently.
