Concept

People travel for different reasons. Some known, some unknown, some tangible and some way too intangible to be expressed in words. I am among the bunch of people who find the experience of traveling difficult to put into words; the ones to whom each moment spent in a place other than home is a photographic memory, with its people, its architecture, its streets and so many other elements coming together to paint a mental picture that lasts in the deep recesses of their minds until their last breath.

Keeping all profoundness aside, Travel Tales is a fusion of colors, geometry and minimal design to recreate some of my favourite memories of the places I've visited.

Like every other traveler, I click a lot of pictures no matter where I go. When you go through the pictures of a particular place, you realize that irrespective of the calm or chaos, there is a sense of uniformity; a common trait in every picture. To me, the color of the buildings, streets and even the clothes the inhabitants wear is something I attribute strongly to a city or a town.

Therefore, I arrive on a color pallette of not more than 6 colors for every place I visit, and these and only these colors would be used to create the illustrations.
First stop: The Pastel-filled Pristine city of Pondicherry

Pondicherry, as any one who's been there would know, is a place where life travels at its own, leisurely pace. But of course, even if there's nothing much to do in this town, there are a few things that are uniquely 'Pondi', which you can't find anywhere else in the country, and that's what I've tried to capture.
Take a walk down any street in Pondicherry(better yet, rent a bicycle) and these colors are what you will notice: earthy, pastel shades that are light on the eyes, yet strong in your memories.
#1: The Universal Town of Auroville, submerged mostly in hues of brown, thanks to the use of mud in the construction of its buildings.
#2: A visit to Pondicherry is incomplete without spending an hour(or a few more) at the Rock Beach.
Pro Tip: The view(as well as the chai as a companion) from Le Cafe is to die for
#3: The spotless streets, pastel-colored walls, french villas with bouganvillas invariablly peeking out of them, bicycles and an air of irreverent calmness...nothing symbolizes Pondicherry more.
