A couple of years ago, I had a dream where I was wearing a red dress and was dancing in the middle of a Mexican plaza, while skeletons drinking margaritas sat around, watching. The dream seemed to have a lot of reference to Day of the Dead as well, which is one of my favorite holidays. It was one the most amusing and vivid dreams I ever had and I've been wanting to bring what I experienced to life.

 

This year, I finally decided to tackle the idea and go through with it. This is some development sketches I've done so far. I did some research on classic folk costumes and hairstyles that are associated with Day of the Dead. I also wanted to put my own spin on it while staying true to what I saw in my dream.
