Irrawaddy Dolphin Hang Tag

A hang tag designed for a stuffed toy of a critically endangered animal. My animal is the Irrawaddy Dolphin found in rivers (Mekong, Myanmar, and Indoesian Borneo) and coastal areas in South and South East Asia. The Irrawaddy dolphin is regarded as a sacred animal by both Khmer and Lao people, and is an important source of income and jobs for communities involved in dolphin-watching tourism. Irrawaddy dolphins are primarily threatened by the accidental capture of aquatic animals in fishing gear otherwise known as by-catch.

A quick mock-up I created in Photoshop to showcase the hangtag on a stuffed animal. The stuffed dolphin was an image I found online, the nose was small enough to be used for an Irrawaddy dolphin. The background a mix of a white to blue gradient with a realistic underwater image overlayed on top with a low opacity.
Printed hangtag cut along die-cut line with string added on the top.
The completed double sided hangtag for the Irrawaddy Dolphin. The front features a cute cartoon picture of the animal and the back has the silhouette of the side view of the animal to show that it doesn't have the same shape as the more known bottlenose dolphin. The small info-graphs were created to showcase different facts about the animal in a fun way for kids. The Asian boarder around the images tie back in to the location that the animal is found. The red dot and line around the entire image represents the die cut line that is the shape the tag would be cut out.
The near completed design for the dolphin.
I created the silhouette below possibly to add behind the illustration at the top, so that kids can see the side view of the animal.
A color filled version of the dolphin, the blurred color along his side and stomach were created by feathering the shape and reducing the opacity.
Below is a (WIP) illustration of an irrawaddy dolphin. I've made the eyes larger, rounder and moved them forward on the face more to make it seen friendlier since this would be marketed towards kids.
A rough sketch of the final pose.

This project needs to include a pattern/motif/color from where the animal is from. Since the Irrawaddy Dolphin is found in S, SE Asia I've included colors and patterns typically found in asian culture.

The asian style boarders might be used to tie in the animal and the location.
The water pattern might possibly be used in the background behind the animal. However, I'm slightly worried the water will be distracting from the illustration.
