M&S 'Children's Birthday Lunch Picnic'

M&S 'Children's Birthday Lunch Picnic'
This was a 'Marks and Spencer' competition brief to design the perfect M&S picnic that would make the customer feel that M&S has thought of everything for the occasion. I chose to design a birthday lunch picnic for children to take to school on their birthday as I felt it was a unique idea that would work for 'Marks and Spencer' and it allowed me to be experimental and fun with designs.

As it is a birthday picnic it takes the form of a present so that it will be exciting for the child to open.

The outer packaging falls down to create an oversize picnic plate for the food to be eaten off leaving the fun packaging free to be enjoyed while the child is enjoying their lunch and also leaves the packaging clean to be kept.

The main packaging itself takes the form of a puzzle cube. The child can customise the outer design with the stickers provided as some of the facial features of the food illustrations are missing, there are also speech and thought bubbles and party images to colour and add as well. The puzzle cube can be changed around to reveal two different scenes for the child to colour-in with the pencils provided.
