Modern Machine Design Portfolio

The logo for Modern Machine Design. The design for the logo was inspired by the look of a drill bit tip. The overall feeling communicated by the design's smooth gradients and symmetrical curves and edges is that of harmony and simplicity. The font also reflects the design of the graphic and further communicates that Modern Machine Design will give clients an easy and stress free experience.
Front of the Business Card. I wanted something that fit with the "machined" and metalllic feel everything else had with the extra touch of this piece looking as if it were printed on metal. I added a drop shadow to the logo shown on the card to also give the idea that there was metal stacked on metal. The vertical orientation will also help the company's card stand out from other cards.
Business Card Back - This side of the business card repeats the vertical orientation as well as the metallic gradient for consistency. The company's general statement is given utilizing previously used fonts and additional inofrmation is given at the bottom for potential clients. The word PROTOTYPES is made very apparent so the the company's main product will be associated with the company itself. A QR code with the Modern Machine Design's signature color is also added to keep the same look among the identity and give mobile users the ability to find the company quickly.
Facebook Header. This cube, machined by Modern Machine Design themselves, shows a simple yet elegant demonstration of their work with the company's initials etched on the surface for extra branding purposes.
Facebook Profile Picture. The profile picture is a smaller version of the company's logo which will give balance to the header. A similar shading is used to appear as though both the logo and cube are in the same space. The signature blue color is used in the background to maintain consistenty between online and offline identities.
Envelope. The envelope for Modern Machine Design is given a metallic trim and a more formal looking font to coincide with the formality of sending a physical letter. The logo and all colors used are placed there for branding and consistency among the different pieces of the corporate identity. Space is given for the symbols that envelopes require to be processed through the post office.
Letterhead. Similar to the envelope, a metallic trim is given to help match the color scheme and look of the corporate identity as well as give formality. Formality is also accomplished by the serif font used for all text. Additional pieces of information are given for both branding, formality, and to give clients extra information in case they require it. The logo is also utilized in the letterhead again for branding consistency but also to draw the readers eye and help it work it's way down the first paragraph of text.
Twitter Header. This is almost identical to the Facebook Header for a consistent feel among social media sites and to assert the company's branding.
Twitter Profile Picture. Almost identical to the Facebook Profile picture for seamlessness between online identities and to keep consistency with the color scheme and branding.
Color Magazine Ad. This ad is meant to flow well given the awkward space. Flow begins at the top and works its way down the right side of the ad down to the arm and ending at the company's general work purpose. The colorscheme is mostly monocrhomatic with the signature blue background the retain the branding of the company. The logo and company name are given on the arm to represent it as the arm of Modern Machine Design. The company's website is featured at the bottom for potential clients to follow. The general look and feel of the ad is inspired by minimalism, which lends itself well to engineering as well as visual design, communicating to potential clients that work with Modern Machine Design will be easy, simple, and stress free.
Grayscale Newspaper Ad. This ad works as a sort of sequel to the Magazine Ad. The general look and feel are imitated so that clients will further associate the relaxed feelings with Modern Machine Design. The same general idea is communicated with the text given and the logo is placed in the corner to not only brand and give the company name, but to also represent that Modern Machine Design is overseeing the creation process. Instructions are given to potential clients at the bottom so the final item they will see can lead them to more of the company's work and information.
