My girlfriend called me a workaholic.
This is my way of reminding me, that she is right.

All month I was practicing handlettering, but I wasn't happy with the results I was getting.
Close to the end of one of my lectures, I started all over again. Next piece.
I usually work in my sketchbook or on copy paper, but this time I had nothing else than my spiral-bound notepad.

I got halfway though the first sketch, when the lecture was over. Got home and immediately sat down to work on it some more.
I was pretty happy with the first sketch, did some tweaking and finished every letter I liked with an inked outline.
Once the outlines were done, I filled the letters with ink.
I vectorised it in Illustrator.
And now the fun part.

Since the whole piece began in a lecture, I decided to make it chalklettering. This was my first time since elementary school that I used the chalkboard again. I had to get used to the board, the chalk and how it behaved. I started from scratch again three times, but I was able to make it a reality.

I know that there is a lot more that I could have done and fixed, but I had a limited timeframe and the first two trys took quite some time.

In conclusion, I am very happy with how it turned out.
I dedicate this work to my girlfriend.

Without her, I would not have had this great idea and the inspiration necessary for this.
I am so happy to have her by my side. I am happy that she chose to stay by my side when times were hard, and that she still chooses to have my by her side, eventhough she knows that it is going to be an uphill battle.

For all the love and support, I have only two words left to say:
Thank You.
