Marina Bay City Gallery // Facade Design Competition

Lasalle School of Arts's Design Communication programme was invited to come up with innovative designs based on themes: celebration, sustainability and togetherness. The following design was the winning design in the sustainable category, displayed from February to July 2014.

CONCEPT: Inspired by the Bay's setting, the elements are arranged into 2 bulbs: Water & Air for one and Earth for the other. The light bulbs embody the idea that the future of sustainability lies in innovative thinking. They support the idea that these ideas will stem from nature and its observation. In other words, the solutions for our planets will come from our planet.

To exemplify the concept of Sustainability, the project was sponsored by he Singapore Institute of Manufacturing technology.
A flexible printed lighting technology was incorporated. Flexible solar cells is thin, light, flexible and generates negligible heat.
