When thinking about the cover of the book, I wanted it to be simple. The single image on the front kept with this. The title of the book, when only black looked too over bearing so I added the outer glow effect to kind of make it appear to be softer, I added the same effect to the photo. On the back, I used the clipping mask effect with the same text as the title to give a sense that the book was about leaving somewhere as opposed to just running. The Drop shadow effect on this just makes it look less harsh.
