Sandy Skoglund Installation:
"Enough is Never Enough"
Antique school desk with modern schoolgirl. APs, GPAs, sports, music, clubs, debate team, student council, standardized testing, community service – everyone looks the same. It’s a disease.
In the image, the antique wooden desk has been covered with colorful temptations that whisper “ you can be the best” - inviting the student to sit down and partake in all that is offered. The buttons grow up the desk, up her arms, and even from her eyes representing the encroaching pressures on the modern elite student.
