Gutten, written by icelandic author Jón Kalman Stefánsson is a triology of novels, and the cover illustrates the main character in the stories. The book was released in the spring of 2015 by Forlaget Press, and the illustration was commissioned by the book's designers Bielke&Yang. The goal was to portray a young boy of uncertain age, with a vulnerable and intimate approach. The portrayed boy does not exist, so I have used several photographs as referance and created a new face with elements from different ones. Drawn with pencil.
