Mapping the Interior Realm, 16.5"x8.5" (dimension for the entire cover), March 2011
Gustav S. Sang
this mysterious and philosophical story written by Gustav. S. Sang bases itself off of a Korean short story written by Kyung Ran Cho. A young girl in her twenties lose her memory by a car accident. Suffering from amnesia and especially struggling with her lack of childhood memory, the unstable girl gets obsessed with a grid, a shape of balanced perfectness. Tracing back the root of her obsession with grid, she re-encounters
her fractal memories and her obsession with grid gradually disappears...

These three photos above are the in-process documentation of this book jacket project.
First two photos show my brainstorming sketches. Before setting up the scene, I brainstormed with the given title using mind map. After this process, I came up with a few helpful keywords for my final outcome:shadow, shutterspectrumgrid and others. The last photo was taken while I was setting up the stage in my room for the cover photo.
