Sometimes if you want to see a change for the better,
you have to take things into your own hands.
-Clint Eastwood
As designers, we all believe our work can have a major impact on the world live in, and we strive each day to help make that impact. We are lucky to have a career that provides the opportunity to give back to our community. When you gather a group of people who share two common interests – design and social justice – you begin to realize that there are endless opportunities to reach out to people with an important message. This is how "Home Ness" came into being. An issue that is very close to my heart and its time that we all realise how important it is for the society as a whole.
What is Home Ness?
We know we can live in a world where everyone has a roof over their head, enough food to eat and access to clean drinking water. Unfortunately, despite some advances we’re far from this vision. Home Ness is a campaign highlighting this issue. For us home means a place where we have a roof on our heads, good food to eat and clean water to drink. But for some people its all about surviving each day, on the streets, in front of the moving crowd, staying totally invisible. Home Ness is basically removing the "LESS" from "HOME-LESS-NESS". That was the main idea behind the identity of this campaign. That no one is "LESS" than us. We need to make notice of these people and help them get on their feet.
Home Ness is a series of ads highlighting everyday life of homeless people. They dont have the necessities which are important for living a basic life. Their idea of home is very different from ours. The campaign is to raise awareness about this issue among general public, so that they are more sensitive towards these "LESS" beings.
