Things I feel strongly about
"Themes of universality have been Trinh's main artistic exploration in his latest large-scale paintings. The artist says, 'I paint icons: the graphic style and images I see everywhere I go, from the screen of a television or a computer to the traffic sign at the street corner. Nothing represents my motto 'Less is more' more than those graphic images. . . we see them daily and they influence many of our activities, so they have great universality.

'Favoring straightforward imagery rather than an idiosyncratic painting style, Trinh's artistic motivation as an artist is to foster communication among people of all ages. Trinh's paintings reflect concepts easily understood by a wide audience through his use of 'dark and light, cold and warm, dull and saturated, thick and thin, flatness and volume, soft and hard edges.'
