What do chunks of coal, Michael Jackson, and caterpillars have in common? Each undergo or have went through a process of radical transformation. Whether it's through skin color or complete change in shape or form each one of them end up looking drastically different from when they were originally made.

In creating this series of book jackets, I experimented with the form of the paper cover to add a new mechanic, which would allow the viewer to experience transformation happening right before their eyes. Adding a new half fold would give three different cover designs depending on its position.
