Code Red is an app made for women, by women. During a hackathon, my team and I wanted to create an app that solved a problem we had in our lives. As a team of women, we discussed how stressful it is when we are in a situation where we are in public without a pad or tampon. We always need to resort to asking friends or women we don't know and sometimes it would be so much easier if there was a discreet and efficient way of doing it. If a woman is in need of some help from a sister, she will open up Code Red and send out a blast to those who have the app in a 50 foot radius. People are able to open her request up and message back to settle a meeting place. Code Red was a joint effort by me, Taylor Carlson, Siobhan Cooney, and Charlotte Petertil.
