Springtime in archipelago is loaded with expectations. For 45 to 65 days weather varies from windy winter storms to mediterranian heatwaves. Spring lingers longest in the maritime islands because of the coolness of the sea. Once the mean daily temperature exceeds 5°C, the thermal growing season is considered to have begun. In 2015 the kick-start to spring happened 18th of February. The awakening was amazing: people left their iglu´s for a brisk walk by the seaside. They wore dresses and sunglasses. They cleaned summer cottages and sailing boats. Then after a short, dark and cold day they returned home for three months to wait the temperature rise above 10°C.
