I followed a tutorial to create a blackboard background www.youtube.com/watch?v=iflYhma2v6E  using a few layers and a photo taken of a scratched cookie sheet!  Added the text and used overlay and color dodge on the text then adjusted the baseline, text size & justification.

I followed the book--Photoshop Down & DIrty Secrets by Barker & used chapter 2.  I followed a combination of Chalkboard Effect & Type in Negative space to get the chalk effect.
