'Dirty Sol' Full Logo
The ribcage icon was constructed using various characters from the wordmark font. Characters were placed in repetition, flipped, twisted and switched around to create a raw texture, and to form the entire icon.
A ribcage was chosen to represent the group based on their musical style and influences. It is meant to represent the feeling of great music in your soul—right down to your bones.
The wordmark is a slight variation of 'The King and Queen Font'. It was meant as a temporary sketch–up for the band to use, but they became attached and it became the inspiration for the icon itself.
The decision came down to two different ribcages; a flat front view, or a rotated version that appears to have some depth.
