The aim of this project was to capture the essence of someone. I chose a model whom I was very familiar with and had known for a long time, and every time I'd think of what little things make him him, I would think of his eyes, his hair, and his opinions and thoughts. To capture this, I tried to maintain a very high-key effect to draw the viewer in and see him in a very objective light. I've maintained a sense of detachment by ensuring there is no confronting gaze or eye-contact. I've emphasized his eyes and his hair, and left space around his head as a symbol for what is contained.
