The works presented include three individual projects that were created over a quarter's period. The goal for these projects was exploring the carving techniques on different materials, as well as experimenting various color combinations on numerous paper textures.
Project 1: Girl.
Size: 4" x 5". 18 pieces.
Linoleum-carving. Carved on 3 different blocks.
Inspired by traditional line drawings of my ethnic group Bai.
Project 2: Deer.
Size: 9" x 12". 6 pieces.
Wood-carving. Carved on 3 different blocks.
A perspective line drawing, where viewers can see through the deer's body as if it was transparent.
Project 3: Field.
Size: 9" x 12".
Linoleum-carving. Applied reduction-carving method, carved on only 1 block.
Inspired by Japanese-style illustrations.
