Working with charcoal is always a thrill. It feels as though I am manipulating the lighting of my subject; I control the drama, the liveliness. I am not simply drawing my subjects...I feel them. I am smoothing the shadows over their shoulders and down their backs, and I am touching their cheeks with the light from my white charcoal pencil.
These drawings are a few that were done in my Life Drawing classes at Sussex County Community College in Newton, NJ (USA).
