MICHAEL PARKINSON IN AUSTRALIA

When it was announced that Sir Michael Parkinson was coming to Australia with a one-man show, ACMN was charged with coming up with a fresh, new look that captured the spirit and status of this very special event.
The concept needed to work across a broad range of media and promotional activity.
One of the "challenges" I encountered was that no new photography was provided for the promotion, so I created a design around an existing promotional photo, but added a contemporary twist: all the while keeping his face clear and easily identifiable (He was, after all, the star of the show.)
I Photoshopped the chosen image into an image of a stack of vintage TVs which was the perfect way to visually represent Parkinson’s life on air: a career that has spanned decades.
The final design proved so popular that publishers Hachette-Livre decided to use the image as their cover art for the paperback release of Parkinson’s best-selling autobiography (a sample provided below).
Other Parkinson projects through Warner Music and UK•TV also feature versions of my design.
