Refuge project starts within the Industrial Design Lab 3 class of the Industrial Design course of the University of Florence, commissioned by Trenitalia. The goal is to redesign the italian railways high speed trains' coaches. The heart of the project is the spinning seat, ergonomically designed and mounted inside a ring, equipped with retractable LCD screen, folding table, remote MP3 player control. Both can be moved and controlled by a touchscreen located on the internal side of the ring so as to let the customer enjoy his journey privately or with the other travelers. The formal language is extended to the entire coach to ensure a unified style.
