SŁOWA DO RZECZY children's book

The book explains the meaning of some traditional Polish proverbs and phrases with links to symbols and objects from the collection of the Ethnographic Museum in Cracow. Each illustration is supposed to depict the object from the Museum’s collection and at the same time clarify the meaning of the relevant proverb. The aim of this book is to explain the function of artifacts that are already out of use and the expressions connected with them. Most of these proverbs still function in everyday Polish language, but their origin is often either unknown or forgotten. The book is designed as an alphabetical index to help young readers learn letters. The back cover doubles as a space for the child‘s creativity – drawing objects, making notes, writing letters etc. The idea behind the book is to bring together family members of all ages so that they can share their knowledge and experience with one another.
