Disney Parks requested a cocktail menu design remenicient of a sketch or scrapbook. This booklet was to be placed in most of their restaurants and bars throughout each park and should therefore not feature one location or theme more than any other and rather be a "generic" Disney piece.

The first design presented was in line with the sketchbook theme. Imagine a traveling mixologist who went from place to place tasting, journaling recipe ideas, sketching the ingredients they enjoyed within each cocktail and taking snapshots of each drink.

This design was to show how each category of drinks would feature each Disney park's geographical location. The page on the left is an example of a Disney Paris collage which includes drinks photographed with a Parisian landscape in the background and multiple items saved from the park such as a map pamphlet and admission ticket.

 

Along the same lines, the page on the right features their California locations, which includes cocktails photographed with California-style landscapes as well as DIsneyland and California Adventure collateral.

The final design presented was to feature various Disney movies presented in a scrapbook style. The sample shown above depicts Alice in Wonderland: the Queen of hearts, caterpillar and butterfly and flowers are all elements from the movie as well as the quote featured on the bottom right.

Ultimately they selected option 1 — the sketchbook design, with a slight adjustment. Instead of sketching ingredients they requested that I sketch different features and locations within the three Disney Parks (Disney World, Disneyland and California Adventure) as well as screen in some "atmospheric" imagery.
