Dale Auger was a Cree artist and storyteller from the Bigstone Cree Nation in northern Alberta. Known for his vibrant acrylic and oil paintings, Auger depicted Native spiritual life and the stories of his ancestors. He also authored the award-winning children's book "Mwakwa – Talks to the Loon."
In addition to his artistic achievements, Auger was a motivational speaker, playwright, comedian, and educator. He earned a Bachelor of Education, Master in Education, and PhD in Education from the University of Calgary. He was posthumously inducted into the Western Art Show’s Hall of Fame at the Calgary Stampede in 2009.
