// STAMP AND FIRST DAY COVER DESIGN //
First day cover and stamp design for a collection of stamps titled "PIXIES". The brief was to make a collection of 8 stamps and a first day cover to hold them based on the theme of "small things". Taking this theme I decided to zone in on the world of the borrowers and other related folklore stories and tales from around the world. This led me to the myth of Pixies as the project is titled and I explored funny ideas of scenarios and also the things that these creatures were said to have done in a set of stamps.
I used photocollage from a large library of historic, open use image resources I have access to along with Unsplash to provide more modern and higher quality images of scenes to place the characters in. I enjoyed coming up with scenarios for the pixies to live in and different things they could interact with.
