The panther beckons the owl into his cave. The owl asks what for, and the panther replies "just for a chat". The owl agrees and gets eaten.
The panther beckons a hare into his cave. The hare asks what for, and the panther replies "just for a chat". The hare agress and gets eaten.
The panther beckons a fox into his cave. The fox asks what for, and the panther replies "just for a chat". Seeing footprints of smaller creatures on the cave floor, the fox becomes suspicious about this. He declines the panther's offer and leaves, living to see another day.
