In my Graphic Design II class, we embarked on an exciting semester-long project centered around developing a card game designed by my professor's father. The task was to reimagine every aspect of the game, from its name and logo to the cards, box, and even an accompanying app. With full creative freedom, I took the opportunity to transform the game into "Seenery," a playful play on the word "scenery," tying directly into the game's theme of spotting sights on a road trip.
For the logo, I wanted something fun and approachable, so I crafted a design featuring rounded typography adorned with integrated illustrations like trees, clouds, birds, dotted travel lines, a car, and a map icon. These elements were carefully chosen to encapsulate the game's adventurous spirit while maintaining a universal appeal for players of all ages.
The cards became a canvas for my sketchy, storybook-style line art, each characterized by a specific one-color scheme that emphasized the subject matter depicted. This approach not only unified the visual aesthetic but also enhanced the thematic coherence of the game.
Crafting the box was a true engineering challenge. I conceptualized it in the shape of a car with a hinged top for card disposal, ensuring that the packaging reinforced the game's narrative and provided a functional, user-friendly experience.
Delving into digital design, I took on the ambitious task of developing an app prototype using Adobe XD. Beyond a simple landing page, I integrated interactive elements that simulated gameplay, allowing users to experience the essence of "Seenery" on their mobile devices.
Each component of the project, from the illustrated cards and dynamic logo to the packaging and interactive app, showcases my proficiency in leveraging a diverse range of design tools. This project not only reflects my skills as a graphic designer but also demonstrates my passion for crafting immersive and engaging visual experiences.
